Youth Mentor
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Develop a one-to-one relationship with a mentee by offering consistency, encouragement, and role modeling.

Help set goals, provide guidance on how to achieve goals, and offer resources for achieving goals.

Interact with the mentee in person and/or virtually to support mentee’s goal attainment.

Actively participate in mentees education and extracurricular activities to encourage a positive experience.

Complete all required reporting and data collection of key performance indicators by deadlines 
-
Participate in community events and develop community relationships on behalf of the agency.

Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:
-
A solid history of employment and/or civic duty. An entrepreneur spirit is a plus!

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and OneDrive.

High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Be able to demonstrate sufficient maturity, stability, judgment, professional demeanor, and motivation to fulfill the role of a mentor. The following characteristics are important in working with children and families in our program:  Openness to values, living standards and lifestyles different from your own.

 Flexible approach to selecting activities, based on the interests of the child and the goals of the match relationship.

 Demonstrated ability to be consistent and reliable.

 Self-awareness, emotional, and cognitive maturity appropriate to mentoring.  
Physical Requirements:
-
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

The job involves engaging mentees in indoor and outdoor recreational activities that may involve lifting, climbing, hand-eye coordination, and standing and/or sitting for prolong lengths of time.
