YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

Protecting Chrysalis is dedicated to breaking the cycle of intergenerational incarceration and ending trauma normalization in high-needs communities. Our Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) initiative equips young individuals with the tools and support to become agents of social justice and crime reduction.

 

Starting Fall 2023 Protecting Chrysalis will be launching our first 10-week virtual youth empowerment initiative. Through YEP, we foster leadership, enhance social awareness, and promote practical and effective conflict-resolution skills. Participants will actively engage in open discussions on pressing social justice issues and collaborate on ideas for community engagement action projects.

 

Youth empowerment programs have been shown to reduce crime rates by up to 40% in participating communities. Additionally, youth engagement in advocacy and community projects contributes to a 25% increase in community involvement and a sense of belonging among participants.
